Introduction to Optics, is aimed at optical assistants and support staff new to optics, and is also suitable for existing team members seeking to enhance their knowledge. Packed with updated content it is designed to equip participants with the confidence and knowledge to be able to handle any enquiries or questions that customers might have. The 4 week course, run by SightCare coach and trainer Peter Greedy, provides a comprehensive introduction to optics, and comprises four 60-minute interactive online sessions, one per week over 4 weeks.

In many independent optical practices, the management of the day-to-day operations is delegated to a practice manager. This is especially true if the owner is often the optometrist, responsible for delivering eye examinations and clinical care, or for some other reason is not in the practice hub. No matter how good the clinical care, experience shows that the success or otherwise of a practice is inextricably linked to how well (or not as the case may be), the business is managed.
This course, designed specifically for SightCare member practice managers, is designed as a practical course to help develop both new and experienced practice managers to learn new skills and develop existing skills, as well as find ways to use those skills to improve the performance of the practice.
