SightCare Practice Team of the Year Winners
We spoke to SightCare’s Practice Team of the Year winners, David Burghardt Vision Care about how winning an award at the 2023 SightCare Conference has impacted their team.
How did you/your team feel when your practice was announced as the winner?
To receive the award that specifically recognised the hard work of our team was a huge boost for everyone. As a small practice our team members are at the heart of everything we do and a vital part of our patient journey. It was great for them to receive such well-deserved recognition.
What was the stand out feature that you believe set you apart from your competitors in this category?
I think the passion the whole team have for the practice and the importance of each and every one of our team members in our overall success was a strong part of our entry.
Does this win make you want to be more ambitious about your practice and if so how?
Winning this award has certainly made us appreciate our strengths and realise how lucky we are to have such a great supportive team who really care about our patients.
How do you believe opticians/practices can have a positive influence through social media?
I believe optical practices on social media play a very important role helping to highlight areas of eye health that many people are unaware of . As a practice we are aware that so many eye conditions come with no symptoms so social media helps us to highlight the importance of regular eye examinations and giving easy access to appointment booking.
What future plans can be expected from you in terms of your team development?
In terms of team development we are constantly evolving and encouraging our team to grow and learn new skills.
How have you been been able share your award success with your patients, community and staff?
Since winning the award we have been on the front cover of local publications and we have gained many new patients who are eager to join the practice.
