Meet Your New CEO: Emma Rawlings

We are excited to introduce you to our new CEO, Emma Rawlings and to welcome her to the team!

Emma brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to SightCare, and we can’t wait for you to get to know her better.

To help you get a sense of who she is, her vision, and what makes her tick, we asked Emma a few questions. Read on to discover more…

What are you most looking forward to about working at SightCare?

I am really looking forward to working with all of our members and getting to know them personally and their businesses. Our staff are a great strength to SightCare and I am looking forward to using their expertise to support our members and strengthen our value proposition and the future needs of their businesses. Also, I look forward to having a supportive Board of Directors and working with them at a strategic level for the future of SightCare.

What are your interests/hobbies outside of work?

I am a keen cyclist, I am a road cyclist and I belong to a couple of local cycling clubs, taking part in some Time Trials and distance events. I am also a runner, though I don not run as many miles as I used to (I have to look after my knee joints now). I trained with UK Athletics as a running coach and had two running groups as part of the Women’s Running Network, helping women of all ages and abilities to start running. My family are all keen car enthusiasts, and you may see me on the track at Castle Coombe on track days.

What is a fun fact about yourself?

I am a twin; I have a non-identical twin sister and we belong to the Twin Research Programme at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London. We take part in essential research for science and medicine every two years, where we attend the clinic for the day and have a range of tests and examinations. Occasionally, it is a larger research project, where we are sent home with a weeks supply of certain foods and have to eat at specific times, wear blood sugar and blood pressure monitors and report back daily.

And just for fun…what’s your favourite eyewear style?

I am a multifocal contact lens wearer, with a reading add over the top. I also have a pair of varifocal spectacles for when I am not wearing my lenses.  I am a patient at an independent optician, local to me, where they supply me with all my lenses and spectacles.
