Meet the team – Kate!

Get to know the SightCare team! Meet Kate, our Business Support Manager.

Hi, I’m Kate Watson and I’ve been with SightCare since 2004—21 years and counting! I started full-time and then switched to part-time in 2009, taking on the role of Business Support Manager, which involves organising the annual conference, and supporting with marketing and membership functions of the business. I love the conference and getting to meet familiar and new faces each year.

When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family, I play netball (just about) in a local league, and I sing in a local choir (but made sure it was one you didn’t have to audition for!). I usually spend my weekends watching my children in their football matches and walking my crazy cocker spaniel – Elise. Sometimes Elsie joins us in the office (well she is a working cocker spaniel).

Here are three things you might not know about me:

– Before joining SightCare, I sold glue guns to German-speaking countries – test me on the german for different components of a glue gun next time I speak to you!

– I have run a 10km dressed as a shark – I dress up as the Easter Bunny each year for my children’s Easter Fair.

So, that’s me in a nutshell—balancing work, family, hobbies, and a fair bit of chaos. I love being part of the SightCare team and look forward to many more years ahead!
