Tackling energy costs while helping the environment
SightCare’s Fair Price partner BeaconPlus explain how you can save money on your energy bills:
Energy bills are now the number one concern for businesses in the UK according to recent surveys and should this be a concern for your own business, please forward a recent invoice, for a none-obligation review. As you may be aware, one of SightCare’s Fair Price partners BeaconPlus work with thousands of businesses across the UK and typically save our clients 34% (within the areas of telecoms and utilities) and are completely performance related. Another major concern we are seeing for businesses, is the looming PSTN and ISDN telecoms switch-off (scheduled for 2025, but sooner in various parts of the UK), which millions of businesses are yet to prepare for.
- (1) Minimising Energy Costs & Efficiency:
All current forecasts speculate that the record high energy prices are here to stay for the foreseeable future, which makes minimising these costs, even more important. Findings suggest 77% of organisations say energy is now their biggest business risk, because unlike domestic energy supplies, there is no price cap for commercial users. Due to our large client base, we have access to competitive market rates and we would encourage you to forward a latest invoice for review, even if you’re currently in contract. We can advise on any likely increases that you may incur (in time) and Net Zero strategies, if appropriate.
Despite the cost challenges, over half of small and medium sized businesses in the UK have invested in environmental sustainability measures over the past 12 months, compared to less than 20% during the previous financial year. Solar panels and LED lighting have shorter payback periods (at present) and become more attractive, and renewable energy suppliers are becoming more competitive and help companies reach their “ESG” (Environmental Social and Governance) goals. We assess each company’s unique energy situation and can then advise.
- (2) Increasing Telecoms Costs & PSTN & ISDN Switch-Off
In 2015, BT announced that they will be switching off the PSTN and ISDN networks in 2025, marking the biggest change in the telecoms industry for over 30 years. In many parts of the UK, this has already been accelerated and even if you have already switched from these services to VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) for example, we would still recommend forwarding a latest invoice, due to the rising costs of communications in general (BT increased prices by 9.3% in April 2022, and other suppliers have applied similar increases).
If you did need to make any changes to your current telecoms set-up, we would strongly recommend that this would be future proof, and we can present various options for your consideration. Once we have received your latest invoice, we would be able to determine:
- If any alterations will be needed in light of the Switch-Off.
OR:
- Review existing arrangements and present recommendations for consideration (we do not necessarily have to change from your existing suppliers, as we have access to Consultancy Rates with certain suppliers).
“I’ve used Beaconplus in a number of businesses. It’s not just the cost saving they make, their customer service and the time they save you in dealing with utilities in multiple sites, is worth their weight in gold.”
